Welcome to the Table
Here at Bethany Lutheran we gather around bread and wine believing—because Jesus says so—that He’s right here, handing over His very body and blood to wipe away our sins and fill us with life.
“This is My body, given for you…
This cup is the new covenant in My blood, poured out for you.”
—Luke 22:19-20 ESV
“When we lift the cup of blessing, aren’t we sharing in Christ’s blood?
And when we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in Christ’s body?”
—1 Corinthians 10:16 ESV
Who’s Invited?
Jesus welcomes everyone who…
Has been baptized
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)
Has been taught the basics of the faith
(Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 5:12-14)
Owns up to sin and longs for grace
(1 John 1:8-9)
Trusts Him—body, blood, real presence and all
(John 6:51; 1 Corinthians 11:27-29)
Stands with us in the Lutheran confession of faith
(Romans 16:17; 1 Corinthians 1:10)
If that isn’t you just yet, no worries. Come forward with arms crossed for a blessing, or catch the pastor afterward—we’d love to talk more.
“Let a person examine himself and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.”
—1 Corinthians 11:28 ESV
“Anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.”
—1 Corinthians 11:29 ESV
Why We Come
We step up with holy awe and deep joy because Jesus still speaks:
“Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.”
—Matthew 26:28 ESV
And every time we eat this bread and drink this cup, we’re preaching the best sermon there is:
“You proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”
—1 Corinthians 11:26 ESV
Come, taste, and see—the table is ready.
