Sermon Series: Stand

Reformation celebrates the 500-year anniversary of Martin Luther's posting of the Ninety-five Theses (October 31, 1517) on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Each week of this series highlights a different theme that emerged from the resulting Protestant Reformation. The themes work together to emphasize the importance of God’s grace as the foundation of our right relationship with Him, directly confronting the corrupted medieval theology of the time. Beginning with the solidarity of Scripture, this series discusses the question of faith versus works, the finished ministry of Christ, the priesthood of all believers, and the ultimate goal of God’s glory.

Singing Faith: Celebrating 500 Years of Singing God’s Word

Come join us on Saturday, October 28 as Bethany hosts a 500th year celebration of the Reformation in song.  The Bethany Chancel Choir will be joining with the Concordia University Choir, the Concordia High School Choir, the Redeemer Lutheran Church Choir and others for a mass singing of great Lutheran hymns and songs by Lutheran composers.

The festivals begin at noon on Saturday, October 28 with Oktoberfest, hosted by the Bethany Holy Smokers.  The events culminates with the concert/hymn sing in the Sanctuary at 2:00pm. Great traditional German cooking at its best will be provided.  We will be gathering a free will offering for the lunch.
